Your u3a is organising a stand at a few local events, to attract new members from outside the Syston area.

We are looking for a few volunteers to help us 'man' the stands.

If you feel you have a few hours to spare, it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact our chairman, Clive Iliffe: sadu3achair@gmail.com  or Jill Kempton-Hayes: sadu3apublicity@gmail.com

Date and Event:
Rearsby: 31st Aug, 12-4pm.

Even if you can't manage the whole time, any help would be much appreciated.

No longer work full-time? ... Come and be Inspired!

"Our motto is “Learn, laugh, and live”

Welcome to Syston and District U3A, we’re a friendly organisation offering a wide range of activities and interest groups for people who no longer work full time.

You need no previous experience or qualifications to join, and our groups work with the sharing of skills, interests, and knowledge - our groups are run “by our members, for our members".

To find out more about our activities and groups just click on the “Groups” link at the top of this page.

To find out how to join just click on the “Join” link at the top of the page.

Or to contact us just click on the “Contact” link at the top of the page.

Interest Groups

Subjects are varied and range from physical activities such as walking, bird-watching/wildife, photography, and practical activities such as craft and knitting, various music-related groups and some more traditional subjects such as quizzes and book groups.

We are always looking out for ideas for new groups, and any member can suggest a subject for a new interest group.

Click on Groups to see the details of each group.

Monthly General Meetings

We meet at 10.30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Each month we welcome a speaker, and we make sure that a variety of topics is covered.

Click on the Events page to see a list of upcoming subjects.

So, if you are interested in learning more about our U3A and its various groups, come along to one of these meetings and introduce yourself to one of our greeters who will make sure you are made very welcome.

Fees

Fees are paid annually in October and are currently £15 per year. This enables you to attend the monthly meetings, and to join as many of the groups as you like. You will also receive the monthly newsletter and quarterly issues of U3A News.

Official Documents (e.g. Data Protection Policy, Privacy Policy, Insurance Cover Note) can be found on the Publications Page.
